hi! I am Carrie.
in my day-to-day I work for a tech company with a design and research team that digs into what our customers need and then build the best experiences. we’re addressing the changes in this space thanks to AI, using new design and research tools to our advantage, saving us more time for the human element of experiences.
I am a board member at a local humane society in an underserved small town in Oklahoma and its rural neighbors. animal overpopulation is bad everywhere but it’s especially bad in rural Oklahoma. in my time with the humane society I have digitized all records, created a Google Workspace account, built trackable processes, and introduced secure, practical AI use. but most importantly I have inspired new ways of fundraising, have created a focus on mutual aide for community members in need, and have implemented practices to keep dogs out of boarding (and increase enrichment for animals that do find themselves there). lately, I’m working to build AI tools that can automate some of our time-intensive tasks.
I live in a cozy house in midtown Tulsa, OK with my husband, four dogs, and an occasional foster pup. we lived in an Airstream for three years and recently purchased a van to hit the road again. I love a good road trip. and avocado sandwiches. and zach’s beans.
you can find me pretending to be a photographer with my fancy new camera, bedrotting/lounging with the dogs, watching reality “relationship” tv, or doodling in a zine. peace.
